Himachal’s Special Siddu: Many people love to roam in the mountains. They also like to go there to try new dishes or to know the recipe of the special dish there. If you have visited Himachal, then you must have also tasted the traditional famous dish Siddu there. Of course, during the Corona period, you may not have been able to enjoy the fresh air of Manali-Kasol this time, but you can enjoy it by making delicious Siddu at home. Come, know the very easy recipe to make it.
What is needed to make Siddu?
2 cups flour
1 tsp active dry yeast
2 tsp ghee
cup unpeeled urad dal
2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
1 pinch asafoetida
tsp turmeric powder
tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp ginger paste
2 finely chopped green chilies
salt to taste
easy way to make siddu
First of all, take urad dal and wash it well and keep it soaked for 2 hours. After this, take out 2 cups of flour in a layer and add 2 teaspoons of ghee, yeast and half a teaspoon of salt in it and after mixing, knead a soft dough. Now apply ghee on it and cover it and keep it for 1 hour. Now drain the extra water from the soaked dal. After this, put the lentils in a mixer jar and grind them coarsely. Now take out the ground lentils in a bowl and mix 1 teaspoon salt, red chili powder, ginger paste, green chili, turmeric, asafoetida, coriander powder and green coriander in it. After this take the dough and make a dough out of it.

Now flatten the dough. After this, wrap it in dry flour or paratha and keep it on the wheel and roll it into a little thick roti. Now place 2 spoons of prepared lentil stuffing on top of it. After this, lift the dough and give it the shape of a half moon and close the stuffing. Stick its edges well. Similarly prepare all the siddus.

Now to cook them in steam, put 2 cups of water in a pan and cover it on high flame on the gas and keep it for boiling. After this, grease the sieve with ghee. After this, when the water comes to a boil, place the sieve over the pot. Place the prepared siddus on it and cover and let it cook in steam for 20 minutes on medium high flame. Now check them. When the siddus are cooked, then turn off the gas and remove the sieve from them and keep them in a plate. Apply some ghee on them. Now eat coriander chutney with momos chutney.
