When did the turning point come

Jaswinder says that there was a time in my life when I did not pay any attention to my health. My job was going to be sitting for long hours, in spite of that, I used to eat anything without thinking. Soon I gained weight and even the clothes did not fit. Now people also started commenting about my weight. That’s when my husband motivated me to lose weight in a positive way. I too had covid, then I realized that health is as important as your family.

I wanted to get back in shape as before, so I started with seven online classes and diets. However, it was very difficult for me to do so, as I had lost my younger brother due to Covid. It was a very bad phase of my life, but due to the support I got from my husband, I got the courage to lose weight and in just 3 months I lost 9 kgs.

How was the diet-

  1. empty stomach – I drink cumin-fenugreek water as soon as I wake up in the morning.
  2. Breakfast- For breakfast, I have poha, gram flour or moong dal chilla, boiled eggs, low oil paratha or omelet, sandwich and tea without sugar.
  3. Lunch- 1 bowl of vegetables, 1-2 roti, salad and a bowl of curd without sugar.
  4. Evening snack- I take 2 tbsp roasted chana, makhana or murmura without sugar or with green tea.
  5. dinner- Initially, for a month, I ate the first or green moong dal khichdi. After that 1 roti, , a bowl of vegetables and 1 bowl of lentils were consumed. I eat dinner before 8 o’clock as much as possible.
  6. Pre-workout meal a banana or any seasonal fruit
  7. post workout meal 5 almonds soaked

Jaswinder says that I think workouts should be fixed according to your needs, so that it does not burden you. My workout routine includes Zumba, HIIT and strength training, yoga.

What challenges did you face due to overweight

Due to obesity, I could not buy my favorite clothes from the market, because no clothes fit me. Apart from this, as the weight was increasing, I felt lethargic, did not feel like working. Along with this, there was also a great decrease in self-esteem and self-confidence.

What changes did you make in the lifestyle?

Jaswinder says that one of the biggest changes I made in my lifestyle during the weight loss journey was to stop eating too much food. Used to eat home cooked food. Quitting tea, ice cream and pastries was the most challenging for me. I avoided drinking water immediately after a meal and eating a full meal. To keep myself hydrated, I made a habit of drinking 7-8 glasses of water a day, which remains even today.
