The first phase of CBSE board examination to be held in two parts will start from mid-November. The dates for class 10 and 12 examinations will be announced by mid-October. According to CBSE officials, the 90-minute Term 1 exam will be conducted with Multiple Choice Optical Mark Recognition (MCQ-OMR) question sheets. The option of online tests will not be available in the first term exam.
CBSE had earlier decided to conduct the examinations in two parts- Term 1 and Term 2. According to the board, the final score of the student will be decided on the basis of his/her performance in both the terms. Under the new scheme, Term 1 will have objective type questions while Term will be subjective and will also have practicals.
If not term 2, then weightage to term 1
Board’s exam controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said, “If there is any disturbance in Term 2 exam, then Term 1 exam will get more weightage. The decision regarding this will be taken before the term 2 exam. Usually Term 1 exams are held between October and November and Term 2 exams in February and March. Term 2 exams will be held in March and April due to Corona pandemic.
CBSE will release the final results after the Term 2 exam. However, the mark sheets of Term 1 exam will also be made available to the students.
