Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has welcomed the decision of PM Modi to withdraw three agricultural laws on the occasion of Prakash Parv. In an interview given to our partner channel Times Now, he said, ‘PM Modi is showing his humility by apologizing to the farmers, there is no arrogance in this.’ He said that due to the decision of PM Modi, there has been a wave of happiness among the farmers.
The farmers of Punjab, Haryana and many other states have struggled a lot to make the farmers’ movement successful, the Captain said. Today his hard work and struggle has paid off. The Captain said that before Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Modi government has given a gift to Sikh pilgrims by re-opening the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. There is a lot of happiness among the people of the Sikh sect.
Earlier on Friday, Amarinder Singh thanked Modi for the decision on agriculture laws. Quoting him, the former chief minister’s media aide tweeted, “It’s a big day for all of us in Punjab. I was raising this issue with the Center for more than a year and met Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah ji and requested them to listen to the voice of our Annadata. Really happy that they listened to the farmers and understood our concerns.
He said, “It has not only come as a big relief to the farmers but it has also paved the way for the progress of Punjab. I look forward to working closely with the BJP-led Center (government) for the development of farmers. I promise the people of Punjab that I will not rest in peace till I wipe the tears from every eye. ,
