The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has taken cognizance of the incident. He has issued a notice to the state government. Under this, he has been asked to give a report about the action taken so far in the matter.

The commission has taken this step after watching a video of the incident on Twitter. In the video, a Dalit man can be seen purportedly tied to a tree and beaten up on behalf of the family members of a woman. This man had a love affair with a woman.

The incident happened on July 7. But, two days later, the matter came to light after the video surfaced on social media. Sampla said, “This is a very shameful, ruthless, inhuman and unforgivable act.”
