What is ISIS Kashmir?
The presence of Islamic State in Jammu and Kashmir is not new. Many organizations affiliated with ISIS have been using his name. In the last few years, many modules of ISIS have been dismantled in J&K. There are many factions in the name of ISIS which operate separately. Security forces have taken action against many organizations like ISIS J&K, ISIS Voice of Hind, ISIS Khorasan.
The Islamic State in India or all organizations affiliated or related to it are banned under UAPA. The National Investigation Agency said last month that ISIS cadres in India have formed a network with ISIS terrorists from around the world.
Intelligence agencies had burnt the bhanda in July
ISIS had claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack on a street vendor in Srinagar last month. In July this year, the NIA, IB and R&AW together busted an ISIS module. Intelligence agencies had arrested one of the founding members of ISIS in Kashmir, Qasim Khorasani and two of his associates in the same month. Qasim was recruiting for ISIS in Jammu and Kashmir.
