Former Indian team opener Aakash Chopra believes that Jasprit Bumrah is the most important player of the Indian team. Chopra heartily praised Bumrah’s performance against Scotland (India vs Scotland).
The Indian pacer took two wickets for 10 runs in 3.4 overs against Scotland. India dismissed Scotland for 85 (India win against Scotland). KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma thrashed the Scottish bowlers and gave India an easy win.
Praising Indian bowling on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that Jasprit Bumrah is actually the backbone of Virat Kohli’s team.
He said, ‘To be honest, this team starts looking half as soon as just one player is removed. It is not Rohit, Rahul or Kohli, but the name of this player is Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is our insurance policy.
Jasprit Bumrah gave initial success to Team India. This former opener of Team India also gave him an advice.
He said, ‘Bumrah gave a great start to the Indian team. The story of Bumrah these days is such that either he bowls yorkers or slow balls. Of course, he is different. But I think there could be some bowling on the length as well. This is something he can do but is not doing at the moment.
Bumrah first dismissed Kyle Coetzer on a slow ball and at the end of the innings, Mark Watt was bowled to end the Scottish innings.
