Tajikistan has categorically refused to recognize the Taliban government to be formed in Afghanistan. Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rakhmon said his country would not recognize an Afghan government that is not inclusive. Not all ethnic groups are also represented in this government. He accused the Taliban of failing to fulfill its promise to involve all parties.
Announced after meeting with Qureshi
This announcement by Tajikistan, which has close ties with Russia, is considered quite shocking. Russia has already announced its recognition of the Taliban government. The Russian ambassador has also met senior Taliban political leaders in Kabul several times. Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon made this statement after a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Qureshi is currently traveling to Central Asian countries regarding the situation in Afghanistan.
President said – Taliban is reneging on the promise
Rakhmon’s office said in a statement that the facts clearly show that the Taliban are reneging on their earlier promises to form an interim government with broad participation from the country’s other political forces. They are going to establish Islamic Emirate. Tajikistan will not recognize any other government that will be established in that country through persecution and without taking into account the status of all the peoples of Afghanistan, especially all of its ethnic minorities.
Why is Tajikistan furious??
Actually, there is a large population of people of Tajik community living in Afghanistan. Their largest settlement is in Panjshir, the biggest opposition stronghold of the Taliban. The Taliban have surrounded Panjshir from all sides three days ago. It was the Taliban who had also killed Ahmed Shah Masood, who was called the Sher of Panjshir, through Al Qaeda terrorists. In such a situation, Tajikistan is angry with the Taliban for the security of its ethnic groups.
Fighters of Panjshir are also ready for war
In order to save the Panjshir Valley, which became the center of resistance in Afghanistan, from the clutches of Taliban terrorists, 9,000 insurgents led by Ahmed Masood’s son have taken the front. Masood’s soldiers have deployed heavy machine guns on the hilltops of the Panjshir Valley to hunt down the Taliban. Apart from this, mortar and surveillance posts have also been made. All these soldiers are part of the National Resistance Front, which is at the forefront of opposing Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
Taliban used to tremble in the name of Ahmed Shah Masood
Ahmed Shah Masood was the hero of Afghanistan whom Russia and Taliban could never defeat. Ahmad Shah Masood was a Sunni Muslim belonging to the Tajik community. The engineer Ahmed Shah Masood was a staunch critic of communism. When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, he took command of the rebel forces and achieved successes one after the other.
