- Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan demands political office in a third country
- TTP following the path of Taliban, opening political offices in Doha
- Pakistan has also put three conditions, both sides have made a ceasefire agreement
Pakistan’s dreaded terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is now seen following the path of its master Taliban. After the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, the TTP has sought political office in a third country. The political headquarters of the United Nations-banned terrorist organization Taliban is in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This office has played a role in bringing the voice of Taliban to the world.
Pakistan rejects TTP demand
The demand for the TTP’s political office has been rejected by the Pakistan government. According to a report in The Express Tribune, the TTP had made three demands during its meetings with Pakistani authorities regarding the peace deal. These included allowing the opening of a political office in a third country, reversing the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, and the introduction of an Islamic system in Pakistan.
There is no question of imposing Islamic system.
Now Pakistan has told the TTP directly and through Taliban mediators that these demands are not acceptable. The TTP was specifically told in clear terms that there was no question of applying the Islamic system based on their interpretation. Also, the terrorist group was told that Pakistan is an Islamic republic and that the country’s constitution clearly states that all laws in Pakistan must conform to the teachings of Islam.
Pakistan also made three demands
Pakistani authorities also made three demands before the TTP, which included accepting the government’s order, laying down arms and publicly apologizing for the terrorist acts committed by them. Officials said that if these demands are met, they will be considered for pardon.
who is ttp
TTP also known as Pakistani Taliban, is a banned terrorist organization operating along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. It has carried out several attacks in Pakistan in more than a decade, in which thousands of people have died. It allegedly uses the territory of Afghanistan to plot terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
Taliban mediation peace agreement
The Pakistani government is now using the influence of the Taliban in Afghanistan to try to negotiate a peace deal with the TTP and stop the violence. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed in an interview last month that his government was in talks with the TTP for a reconciliation with the help of the Taliban in Afghanistan. He was criticized a lot by many politicians and many people who became victims of terrorism for this matter.
